Key
Stages: Secondary
From Year
7 to Year 11 – From 11 to 16 years
of age
(“Accept the responsibility of their
actions and adopt a healthy attitude to
life”)
Co-ordinator of Secondary: Ms Sara Graham
Our aim is to offer our pupils a wide
range of subjects so that they receive
an all round education. During this stage
all teachers are specialists in their
own subject.
In the last two years of Secondary, known
as Key Stage 4, the curriculum is more
flexible and pupils are able to choose
between some of the subjects depending
on their preferences.
During this period both the teachers and
tutors work closely with the pupils to
help them achieve good study skills, be
responsible for their actions and decisions,
to make healthy decisions in their lives
and to use their time appropriately. In
short, they help them to develop on a
personal and social level.
During this Key Stage the pupils take
part in exchange trips with schools in
Germany and England and they also visit
places of cultural and historical interest.
At the end of this Key Stage the pupils
sit their IGCSE examinations (International
General Certificate of Secondary Education),
which are the international version of
the GCSE examinations taken by pupils
in Great Britain.
