Thank you everyone!
Here is a small sample of our Good Manners program, in the dining room during lunch yesterday, Wednesday, December 14, 2011.
Students from Year 1 to 4 are able to attend.
As always, we had a wonderful time and Miss Loli has taught us to behave well at the table, to try new foods, and to properly use our utensils.
We love coming here!
It is proven that what is taught, it is learnt better, and that has been the experience for one of our pupils in Yr 8, Lorena Larfeuil.
Taking advantage of both curriculums coinciding, Year 6 pupils have recently visited an exhibition about prehistory organised by the year 8 pupils which took place in the hall in the Secondary building.
This year we have been promoting healthy eating in the dining room. Pupils have been encouraged to eat more fruit and vegetables and are rewarded with a “healthy choice” sticker when they do so. The campaign has so far been very successful with many children trying new foods and eating more fruit and vegetables! Today we received a ‘Healthy School’ certificate from “Padres y Colegios” magazine which we are very proud of! Congratulations to all staff and pupils!

After an exhaustive evaluation process, only 25 teams went through to have the opportunity to compete at the Forum in Pamplona on 17th & 18th Nov 2011. Caxton College had two teams selected for this round and were up against teams from 20 High Schools around the world.
Caxton College’s teams comprised of the following students:
Team 1
Ana Alicarte
Alexei Kovalenko
Juan Gramaje
Mayo Torres
Team 2
Carla Delgado Vargas

The second day of the event saw Caxton College Team 2 selected as one of the four finalists. Tensions were high in the team as they presented in front of the whole forum and three eminent judges. They gave an excellent presentation after which they were questioned rigorously.
The Caxton College Team was awarded 3rd Prize in this spectacular international event therefore gaining them first position in Spain.

Look out for more workshops coming up for other year groups soon!

moreCoralita Arnold produced this stunning sculpture as part of her summer homework. The figure was produced by making a core and forming basic shapes out of aluminium. She then added polymer clay to the surface to define the body parts. The sculpture was baked in the oven and the delicate details added. finally the sculpture was painted and varnished. An amazing achievement by a very talented young lady.
