HOMEMADE FOOD & DINING ROOM

“We ensure, with the healthy ingredients of the Mediterranean diet, that all children are offered all the nutrition needed for their growth”

With the goal of maintaining a quality diet, the school offers homemade food and a well prepared dining room available to all students.

All the menus are revised and approved by the school doctor to ensure that the meals served are balanced and healthy, and also to the taste of the pupils.

Fruit is at the forefront of our menus four out of five days a week in the cafeteria. We want our students to get used to eating fruit and it is given to them peeled, prepared and natural as to be more appealing.

Periodically, parents will receive cafeteria menus. They may also consult them on a daily basis via our website.

Supervision
The dinner ladies serve food onto pupils’ trays giving them three dishes, first course, second course and desert. They also make sure when students have finished, that they have eaten everything, and take notes on any abnormalities.

If any problem relating to diet is found, it is immediately reported to parents so that it may be overcome.

“Crushed meals, the first step towards solids”

The youngest children, Playgroup pupils, have a menu adapted to their needs. Given that the majority are learning to eat solids, their first meals are crushed and, according to paediatric advice, vegetables, meat, eggs and fish are alternated to ensure a healthy and balanced diet.

Playgroup classes have a reserved area in the middle of the dining room, separate to the older students, where they are supervised constantly by specialized professionals.

Little by little their diet will be modified to incorporate solid foods and build their maturity and independence.
