“Honeste Vivere”
The educational system at Caxton College promotes a “whole child” approach. Therefore a fundamental part of the learning process is the combination of sporting, cultural, artistic and craft activities which develop personal qualities and interests enabling students to learn how to make the most of their leisure time.
An understanding and sound knowledge of both Spanish and English cultures is considered a fundamental facet in the education of our students.
We pursue an experimental methodology that focuses on the pupils’ natural desire to learn. We aim to awaken the pupils’ curiosity and interest in their surroundings, encouraging them to learn how to learn.
We consider it essential that the pupils develop positive intellectual and moral habits thus enabling them to fulfil their potential.
We encourage our students to develop all the necessary attitudes to be responsible citizens and competent professionals.
Classroom activities are seen as a joint task between teachers and pupils. We acknowledge the fact that parents are the most important educators of their children. Therefore, we encourage parents to develop their role as educators through criteria in line with the educational beliefs of the school.
We aim to provide pupils with the skills necessary to form independent opinions enabling them to make personal decisions in response to situations which will arise in their lives. These skills will help them to learn to use all the information on hand and to use their judgement.
The education at Caxton College is based on Christian values whilst at the same time respecting freedom of belief.
The aim of our co-educational system is to promote mutual and self-respect between both sexes.
