“Study Spanish under the sun and discover Mediterranean culture"
During the summer, Caxton College also offers accommodation with
host families or in
halls of residence (accompanied groups) for students who want to take part in our intensive (Spanish as a foreign Language) courses;
accredited by the Cervantes Institute.
The option of boarding is available for those between 8 and 18 years of age with the possibility of staying from two weeks to two months in an international environment with native Spanish speaking teachers.
Just like the other students, those boarding with us during summer school enjoy the same
sports activities and games (swimming everyday,
workshops...) encouraging them to build friendships and practice Spanish.
As well as this, there are other
optional classes available such as tennis, paddle tennis, swimming lessons or I.T. (price not included in the course).
When the course ends, all students participate in a show where they demonstrate, in a fun way, all that they have learned during the course.
The boarding programme organises student
parties as well as weekly
trips every Saturday. Boarders can experience
Spanish culture and history, visiting the most famous attractions of the Valencian Region: beaches, castles, monuments, funfairs etc, in addition to the activities which the student and host family may do together outside of school.
In order to aid the student’s learning process and encourage them to practice their second/third language, the boarding department has a selection process with regard to host families, taking into account the student’s characteristics. For example, boys and girls of similar ages or other boarders with the same native language or nationality do not stay with the same host family.
At the end of the course, pupils receive an attendance certificate and an academic report together with evaluative report about their stay (with photos) from the host family and the schools’ boarding department.
